One of the 1101 qty 1965 356C coupes produced. This car is red over tan leather interior. Beautiful chrome, original equipment car. Matching numbers car. Restored approximately 8 years ago. Drives straight, runs excellent, recently had valves, swepco grease, oil, points, air filters, fuel filters, and spark plugs done by local shop (April 08). Brakes are strong, transmission shifts clean (no grinds or hard gears). The carpet should be replaced with original, but otherwise the chrome, paint, and interior are excellent. All signals, headlights, and horn work fine. The battery box, rocker panels, fuel tank, and body panels are rust free in excellent condition. The longitudinals, floor pans, K-brace, and front strut reinforcements should be replaced in the next year or two due to corrosion.

1965 PORSCHE 356 C 1600 CABRIOLET with HARD AND SOFT TOP Serial body No. 161130 Engine No. 81521 Light Ivory OEM Porsche paint. Color code: DDL81341 The rarest, and most highly valued Porsche of the late 356 era. The 1965 C Cabriolet has 4-wheel disc brake, and double intakes on the engine lid. This is the same type of iconic 356 Cabriolet featured in the Steve McQueen film Bullitt, The proper 616/15, C engine is stock, with proper Zenith 32 NDIX carburetors. There has been a recent clutch replacement with all the proper parts, and the car was just tuned by my German, race engine builder.

This car has a unique history. We got the car from a lady in her 70's right here in Utah. She told us about the car, her mother having received it when new. Her mother drove the car until it had 70K miles on it, then she got it from her mother and has owned it since then. It spent most of its life in Idaho, then moved to Utah. It had a current Idaho license and registration when we got it. She showed us photos of the car when new, service records, manuals and boks that the family accumulated over theyears, and told us stories about the experiences her family had with the car.

The rear bumper is pushed up a bit on the right rear side (see photos) but the body is very good looking and quite straight with good gaps. The motor runs great, we took it for a drive on the highway and she really cruises nicely.

This is an SC sunroof coupe in so so condition. It did need an engine rebuild sooner than I thought at the tune of 10k along with some rust underneith including a bad longitudinal which has yet to be fixed. The sunroof cables were bad and the sunroof was dinged up from flying off the car at some point. The body shows lots of wear and will need to be repaired when the bottom is done. The interior is quite tired. The upside is the restored value of the car...
